Trim a video
Free, with no upload and no watermark. Cut off the start and the end of a video in this browser tab. The file never leaves your computer.
- No upload
- Exact cut
- No watermark
This browser can’t preview this file, but you can still pick the part with the handles.
This is a large file. The trimmed video is built in your computer's memory, so it may fail on a computer with little free memory.
Keep this tab open. You can switch to other tabs while it works.
Trim a video in three steps
No program to install and no account. It all happens in this page.
-
1
Add your video
Drop the file on the box above, or click “Choose a file”. MP4, WebM, MOV and MKV work.
-
2
Pick the part
Drag the two handles, or play the video and press “Set start here” and “Set end here”. Press “Play the part” to check it.
-
3
Download it
Save the trimmed video. MP4 and MOV videos come out as MP4, WebM videos as WebM.
Your video stays on your computer
Most online video tools upload your file to their server. This one doesn't need to.
Nothing is uploaded
The page uses the video tools built into your browser. Once it has loaded, it even works offline.
No waiting in a queue
No upload and no download of the result means even a long screen recording is done as fast as your computer allows.
No limits
No sign-up, no watermark and no daily cap. Use it on as many files as you like.
Questions, answered
Is this video trimmer free?expand_more
Yes. There is no sign-up, no watermark and no limit on the number of files.
Is my video uploaded to a server?expand_more
No. It all runs inside your browser, on your computer. The file is never sent anywhere, and the page keeps working if you go offline after it has loaded. Read the privacy policy for details.
Does trimming lower the quality?expand_more
The part you keep is re-encoded so the cut lands exactly where you chose. At the quality used here, the difference is hard to see.
What format is the trimmed video?expand_more
The same as the picture inside the original: MP4 and MOV videos come out as MP4, WebM videos as WebM. An MKV comes out as MP4 or WebM, depending on the video inside it.
Can I cut out a part in the middle?expand_more
Not here. This page keeps one continuous part of the video: everything before the start and after the end is removed.
Is there a file size limit?expand_more
There is no fixed limit. The finished video is held in your computer's memory until you download it, so files of a few gigabytes may fail on computers with little memory.
Which browsers does it work in?expand_more
Recent versions of Chrome, Edge, Opera and Safari, and Firefox 130 or newer. It uses the browser's built-in video tools (WebCodecs).
How do I trim a screen recording?expand_more
If you record with PulseRecorder, the free screen recorder for Chrome and Edge, you can trim right after recording, before you save. The export tutorial shows how.
Record, trim and share in one place
PulseRecorder records your tab, window or screen, lets you trim it, and saves it as MP4 or GIF. Free, no account.
